The highly coveted BCS examination is one of the widely recognized exams in Bangladesh, providing civil service jobs under the government. Annually, thousands of aspirants prepare intensely for limited spots. To initiate your journey, you must go through the application process. Here’s a detailed guide to help you apply without hassle.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To begin your BCS application, visit the BPSC’s official website: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the primary portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Be careful from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Find the latest BCS exam circular under the announcements section. The circular shares necessary information, such as qualifications needed, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other notable instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Study the conditions, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The regular age limit is within the range of 21–30 years for general candidates, but relaxations are offered for specific groups such as children of freedom fighters or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the online registration form (Form 1). Fill in all compulsory fields, such as applicant information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Verify for any discrepancies. Providing wrong information can lead to application invalidation.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a current copyright-sized photograph (300x300 pixels, file size below 100 kilobytes) and your signature (300px x 80px, file size below 60KB). Make sure these follow the instructions mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After sending in your application, you will be sent a User ID. Use this ID to settle the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually Tk. 700 for general candidates and Tk. 100 for others. Follow the procedure provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will get a confirmation SMS with a payment reference ID. Keep this ID for future reference. Log back into the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

File your application well before the deadline to prevent last-minute technical issues.

Print a copy of the finalized document for future use, such as for retrieving the admit card.

By sticking to these guidelines, you can successfully apply for the BCS exam and progress towards your goal in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Best of luck!
